Story
In Honour of my son Reuben David Jones who passed away at 27 days old on 23rd January 2024. Reuben collapsed in our arms and went into respiratory arrest and was unable to be revived despite my own attempts and a team of medical staff.
Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy is something I had never heard of before and many parents live through this experience without ever knowing the reason why there little babies couldn’t stay.
People always say during trialling times that they wish they could do something to help. The Bears of Hope helped me to ease the loneliness of grief and have supported me to connect with other Dads who have had to endure the pain of loss.
This winter, I am committed to making a real difference and raising awareness about pregnancy and infant loss by growing a beard for an incredible cause, Bears Of Hope Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support.
For over 10 years, Bears of Hope has been there for families across Australia, offering vital support during their most difficult times. Their mission is to provide ongoing comfort, fee-free counselling, and a compassionate community to parents who have experienced the heart-breaking loss of their baby during pregnancy, birth or infancy.
Every dollar you donate directly helps support grieving Dads and their families, providing the care and resources they so desperately need.

Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support is an Australian not-for-profit organisation, providing leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby.
We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
